Public Programs

While most of the programs at UWC-USA are designed for current students, three distinct program areas are available for those who want to engage in the UWC mission and the work of the school.

The Bartos Institute for the Constructive Engagement of Conflict (CEC) provides students with programming that encourages the global-mindedness and peacemaking skills central to our mission.

In addition, the Bartos Institute provides school leaders, faculty, and community members, with online and real-time opportunities for education in CEC methodologies.

UWC-USA also offers a summer program for youth, Global Leadership Forum, that provides an exciting introduction to the the UWC-USA curriculum. An official UWC Short-Course, Global Leadership Forum is also a great way for students and families interested in Davis Scholarships to learn more about the UWC movement and mission.

The IB Teacher Training Workshops are designed for IB teachers seeking professional development unique to the IB curriculum. Courses are offered in March and the summer and provide teachers with expert instruction and an instant network of peers from schools across the U.S. and around the world.

“A UWC education is not an end in itself, but is designed to inspire and equip students with the skills they need to seek personal and communal fulfillment, to be mindful of the needs of others, and to become activists for a more peaceful and sustainable world.”
