At UWC‑USA, our son formed meaningful relationships with friends from around the world. His very first conversations became lasting friendships grounded in curiosity and a shared love of learning—connections that have continued well beyond graduation. We are convinced that the key was UWC‑USA’s intentional balance of academic rigor with cultural and outdoor activities, an environment that truly honors its unique international tapestry.
Near the end of his time at UWC‑USA, our son wrote his college essay. When we read it, there was nothing else to say besides, “Yes, he is indeed in the right place.” His essay, about a UWC‑USA project, described a community that nurtured both his intellect and his character—one in which he had matured, grown academically, and developed empathy. Those qualities shone through on the page, and we were deeply impressed.
We donate to UWC‑USA every year and hope our contribution helps students discover the strengths and skills of their future selves. We also want to support faculty in offering programs like Future Pathways and University Counseling so every student has access to tailored guidance and a wide array of opportunities here and abroad. More than anything, we give because what UWC‑USA fosters should be a template for how we come together and grow together from our own unique experiences.
