The farm is an experiential learning center where students connect academics with real-world sustainability. Also known as the Agroecology Research Station, the farm is located on 20 acres of riparian land near Sebastian Canyon adjoining the UWC-USA campus.
Growing food on the farm integrates biology, physics, and chemistry while also sparking discussions on ecology, economics, and environmental responsibility. Through hands-on work, students gain a deeper understanding of food systems and the effort required to produce the food they eat.
Train students and community members in the skills and techniques needed to practice sustainable agriculture in an arid environment.
Provide a place for practical, hands-on work where students can learn new skills and discover meaningful applications of their classroom learning in math, economics, and the sciences.
Stimulate innovation by challenging students to think about new and different ways to approach problems such as pest management, habitat conservation, and waste management.
The Wilderness Program helps students connect with each other and build leadership skills and resilience through shared experience in rugged and remote backcountry terrain
