Passions
Comedy, international education, and learning and teaching about the interdisciplinarity and practicality of economic thinking – contrary to the popular belief, it is not all about money! It is, fundamentally, about trade-offs, strategic planning, and understanding what makes humans tick. Once we gain an understanding of how humans make decisions and what incentivizes them, we can use this knowledge to tackle a wide variety of issues, from how we choose which cereal to buy all the way to tackling climate change!

Q&A with Tina

What do you love about teaching or your role at the school?
There is never a dull moment, and I feel challenged daily. Interacting with so many brilliant young minds who are bold and unafraid to challenge the status quo keeps my mind fresh and growing. I am motivated to find more efficient and fun ways to convey difficult concepts, which also often leads to discovering things about my field that I might not have observed before. My students keep restoring my faith in humanity.
As a UWC alumnus, I know the value of this opportunity. Most of the doors I’ve gotten to walk through in my adult life so far were built by this lovely community. Our teachers do what they do because they care about you and your future.
