Mateusz Jurecki

A physics educator with a lifelong fascination with the natural world, holds a Master of Science (MSc.) in Educational Physics from Wroclaw University, Poland. His journey into science began in childhood, sparked by family discussions and hands-on tinkering with batteries, cables, and the mechanics of rope swings and roller coasters. This curiosity eventually blossomed into a dedicated career focused on crafting inspiring, memorable approaches to teaching physics.

Prior to joining UWC-USA, Mateusz gained rich international experience teaching in various international schools, as well as across the UWC movement—including stints at UWC Mostar, UWC Costa Rica, and, most recently, UWC East Africa. He thrives in dynamic classrooms filled with motivated students whose insightful questions and unique perspectives continuously enrich the study of physics.

What do you love about teaching or your role at the school?
What fuels my passion for teaching is helping students experience those transformative “aha!” moments when abstract concepts suddenly click and light up their understanding of the universe.
I am a dedicated, globally experienced physics educator who strives to make complex concepts intuitive, accessible, and exciting through hands-on curiosity and open classroom dialogue. I believe that guiding a diverse group of students constantly enriches my own understanding, as their unique backgrounds bring fresh, unexpected perspectives to the universal laws of science we explore together.
