Students from UWC‑USA and New Mexico Highlands University are teaming up to support one of Las Vegas’s most vital resources for unhoused neighbors: the Samaritan House shelter. The shelter, where UWC‑USA students regularly volunteer alongside the thrift store, was recently forced to close due to lack of funds. Now, students and community volunteers are organizing the first‑ever Samaritan House Fashion Show to help bring it back.
The event will feature a runway “fashion battle” between Highlands and UWC-USA, along with dancing, mariachi, African chorus, and a silent auction showcasing items from local businesses. It’s a celebration of creativity and community with a very practical goal: raising the money needed to reopen the Samaritan House and restore critical services for people experiencing homelessness in Las Vegas.
Every ticket purchased and every registration brings the shelter one step closer to reopening. Please join us, spread the word, and help create a brighter, safer Las Vegas for everyone.
