Three UWC-USA students recently won New Mexico Scholastic Art Awards for their outstanding creativity and skill. Sarah ’26 received a Gold Key Portfolio Award for her installation exploring memory and family, featuring sewn and scratched photographs combined with 3-D elements, including a detail of her grandmother’s hand. Jasper ’26 earned a Gold Key in printmaking for a modular linocut print that engages with emergent systems and design. Inase ’27 received a Silver Key in drawing for an expressive ink and acrylic composition summarizing a study of form using found objects.
The Gold and Silver Key works will be exhibited at the Orpheum Community Hub in Albuquerque from February 6–28, with Gold Key pieces advancing to national judging. Congratulations to these three students for their creative achievements and for representing the artistic spirit of UWC-USA.
