Brilliance is not defined by privilege—it exists in every corner of the world. Yet too often, access to life-changing education is reserved for those with financial means or connections. Access is so vital to a transformative education experience, because students don’t just learn from teachers; they learn from one another. If we let the barrier to education stay in place students miss out on the opportunity to learn, grow, and lead together.
The UWC movement was founded in the postwar period with the idea of bringing young people of diverse backgrounds together—based on their motivation and potential, not their socioeconomic status—to prevent future conflicts.
Unlike most independent schools, we are funded primarily through philanthropy, not tuition fees. Approximately 85% of our students receive financial assistance.
We are grateful for the support of our donors, who make a UWC-USA education possible for our students. Learn how you can join our donors in supporting our mission.
