Northern New Mexico is home to spectacular mountains, ancient cultures, and a vibrant and generous people.
Just beyond campus, students embark on orientation hikes in the Pecos Wilderness for an immersive and challenging way to begin their UWC-USA journey. This landscape becomes a living classroom where nature teaches resilience, teamwork, and reflection.
Once a retreat for wealthy travelers, the Santa Fe National Forest now supports a deeper kind of exploration. UWC-USA students use this environment to study ecology, engage with the land, and connect meaningfully with the world.
UWC-USA is a global community in the heart of New Mexico, where students from more than 90 countries come together to learn, grow, and exchange ideas. Students engage in conversations about migration, identity, and global challenges, gaining a deep understanding of the world beyond borders. This unique environment fosters a truly international education, where diverse perspectives come together to create connections and meaningful change.
Community service is an important part of the UWC-USA experience and affords students rich opportunities to learn about themselves and others. Some students may work on reforestation projects while others might help at an animal shelter or soup kitchen.
First-year students embark on weeklong expeditions across the American Southwest each October. Some expeditions focus on outdoor adventures while others explore the culture and history of New Mexico.
The 3-week Global Leadership Forum program will give participants the leadership skills necessary to plan and execute a project that addresses a social justice challenge in their home community.
