Marcos Mendez

Marcos is a Costa Rican and a US citizen who is here with his family. He has worked primarily in ecotourism in Costa Rica where he has and runs his own business.

He studied tropical ecology and sustainable tourism in Costa Rica (InBio and UNED) and previously worked in the hospitality sector for several years (Marriott and others). He has also worked for several years in two different summer camps in both the US and Canada, where he gained and developed important skills necessary for the type of job that he does at UWC.

Raised in rural Costa Rican countryside but with a significant exposure to the rest of the world, Marcos has traveled about 35 countries over many continents where he has benefited from meeting and learning from our differences as societies and cultures and simultaneously enriching himself.
