Liam O’Hara is an accomplished international educator specializing in history, global politics, and economics. He currently serves as the Director of Expeditionary Learning and balances his leadership role as a half-time classroom teacher. Liam holds a Bachelor of Arts in US History from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Master of Arts in Instruction from Saint Mary’s University.
With a career spanning nearly two decades, Liam has taught a diverse range of rigorous curricula across global classrooms, including extensive experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) and Advanced Placement (AP) programs. His dedication to the educational community was notably recognized when he became the first recipient of the Captain Raj and Sudesh Mohindra Award for spirited service to the UWC mission. A collaborative leader, Liam has also served as a social studies department head and successfully championed peer support initiatives to mentor colleagues. He brings a dynamic perspective, a license from Minnesota, and a deep commitment to experiential education and global citizenship.
