Erin grew up in Las Vegas, NM, part of a large extended family with deep roots in Northern New Mexico and public education. After leaving home in 2003 to attend college and to start a career, she ecstatically returned to the area in 2011, ready to settle down and give back to the community that raised her. She holds a BS in Zoology with minors in Botany and French, University of Oklahoma, and an MAT in Secondary Science Education from the University of Alaska Southeast. She has taught many subjects, but her favorites were Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II, courses which she taught more than 30 times in her 6 years as a community college professor. She joined the faculty at UWC-USA in 2016 to teach IB Sports, Exercise and Health Science, a role which she enjoyed for five years before following a newfound passion to become a full-time Residential Coordinator, Experiential Educator, and sponsor of the student-led Climate Action Team (CAT). In her time off, Erin enjoys spending time with her plants and pets, helping socialize her cousin’s therapy horses, watching shows and reading with her three children, taking afternoon naps, and playing tabletop games with her partner of 21 years.
