Q&A with Casey

What do you love about teaching or your role at the school?
At UWC-USA, I have the privilege of working with highly motivated and talented, globally-minded students, and 105 DUWCS partner universities. The opportunity the Davis partnership provides inspires my effort every day. I am also inspired by the way UWCUSA students embrace the mind-altering challenges of an extraordinarily, diverse and demanding residential community, as well as, the physical challenges of the Wilderness program.
I have been working in the field of admissions for about 40 years. I love that the work is evolving and constantly changing. I have worked in international student admissions for the past 15 years. I have lived and worked in Austria, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, and Belgium. I have been an application reader and worked on the admissions side of the desk for a decade, and I worked with athletes and recruitment for about 25 years. There just is not much I have not seen. During my tenure as a college athlete and later as a Hall of Fame high school coach, I had the chance to visit dozens of campuses and learn about the technical side of athletic recruitment. When I travel, I make a point of visiting universities. While I may be monolingual, my experience and knowledge of global higher education opportunities are vast and reflect a lifetime of interest.
