Summer dates and fees
IB Diploma workshops are held over four days at the Albuquerque Marriott in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Most workshops take place in June and July. See the course list for dates and subjects.
Due to the global situation regarding COVID-19, we are postponing our Summer 2020 workshops until January 2021. All current registrations are still valid, and transferred automatically. For all previous registrations, cancellations are being processed sans the $100 cancellation fee. Our new dates and offerings are available to view on our page here.
Registration for participants is $1,379. Make sure to take advantage of our early registration period before December 1 and save $100. Registration includes instruction, accommodations, internet access, and use of the pool and workout facilities. Meals include dinner and a plenary session on the day of arrival/check-in; breakfast and lunch on Days Two and Three; and breakfast on the last day, which concludes at 11 a.m.
Accommodations are single occupancy rooms at the Albuquerque Marriott which is near the uptown area with shops, bars, and cafes.
Airport transportation is not included. Cab fare is generally between $20 and $25.
Registration is valid only when accompanied by payment. Accepted forms of payment are credit card, check, PO, and wire transfers.
When you register online, you will receive confirmation of your payment and a copy of your registration information. A second confirmation will be emailed to you once we receive payment to confirm your place in your chosen workshop.
If any workshops will be cancelled, we will know by December 15. If you don’t hear from us by then, it is safe to purchase your airline tickets. We advise that you wait until then before booking airline tickets. Shortly before the workshop, you’ll receive another email with general information and a workshop abstract from the workshop leader.
Changes to Registration
You will be charged $30 for any changes made prior to the start of the workshop that affect the workshop subject or dates of enrollment. If you make workshop changes on site, you will be charged a $50 change fee.

Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellations must be made in writing and scanned or postmarked by December 1, 2020. Refunds will be processed less a $100 handling fee. No refunds will be made after December 1, 2020. Payment will still be expected for any cancellations made after December 1.
UWC-USA reserves the right to cancel a workshop due to low enrollment. In the event a workshop is canceled, you may transfer from the canceled workshop to an available workshop or elect to have the registration fee fully refunded.
