We invite you to be inspired by the beauty of New Mexico and by experienced, knowledgeable workshop leaders. UWC-USA has hosted International Baccalaureate workshops for more than 25 years, successfully meeting the needs of teachers who are new to IB as well as seasoned educators. We were one of the very first IB schools in the United States and take very seriously our role as pioneers as the IB reaches its 50th birthday.
With recent changes to the IB curriculum, it’s more important than ever to stay abreast of how each program area is changing to meet the needs of a complicated educational landscape and the learning needs of our students.
While past participants consistently point to the outstanding workshop leaders we attract each year, they also benefit from the camaraderie and informal networking among other educators.
Both the March and summer workshops are held in Albuquerque and offer ample time to explore local pubs, museums, and sights.
UWC-USA’s IB workshops boast the Southwest’s relaxed hospitality that encourages participants from some of the best IB schools in the world to get to know one another, share lesson plans, encourage one another, and network within a remarkable community.
After a workshop, take an afternoon to explore nearby Santa Fe. Established in 1610 by the Spanish, Santa Fe is the oldest capital in the U.S. Visit this page for a list of the top 15 tourist attractions in the city.
Also of interest is the recently renovated Meow Wolf Arts and Entertainment Group. Visit here for more information on their Santa Fe location.
