Benefit Concert Featuring Students and Guest Artists

The public is invited to join us at 7:30 pm on Friday, December 2 for a concert to benefit a band coming to New Mexico for a residency in February. Our program highlights music of the Transatlantic Exchange, with performances and original compositions by UWC student artists, and introducing guest artists from Santa Fe, Los Primos Melodicos. This event is a benefit concert to assist in raising funds to support a February residency of the Saakumu Dance Troupe, a performing group from Ghana.

Student Performances will include

African Chorus
Music Improv Group
Student Jazz Trio
an original student composition for West African gyil (xylophone)
UWC Dance Ensemble

Los Primos Melódicos, a performing group from Santa Fe will also perform.

A suggested donation of $20 will be accepted at the door. The concert begins at 7:30 in Kluge auditorium on the UWC-USA campus.
