They've renovated an old church building, transforming it into a vibrant community center. They've built homes for families who wouldn't have a house otherwise. They help run the local homeless shelter, tutor elementary school children, and work at the local mental health hospital. UWC-USA students are deeply ingrained in the community through a multitude of service initiatives. In addition, they serve their own campus through participation in work crews. Being engaged with the community—within the campus and beyond—are important aspects of a well-rounded college preparatory education.
