Who should apply

The UWC U.S. Selection Committee is charged with selecting outstanding students each year to represent the United States at UWC schools and colleges around the world.

Applicants must be US citizens or US permanent residents and be either 16 or 17 years old on September 1 of the year they intend to enroll. In addition, Davis Scholars must demonstrate significant ties to the US or that they have lived in the US a major portion of their lives.

Many of those selected will become Davis Scholars, who are guaranteed a merit award of $25,000 for each of two years toward the cost of attendance—regardless of a family’s income.  Additional aid—up to 100% of the total cost of attendance— is also available, based on a family’s demonstrated need.

Additional non-scholarship students may also be selected. These students will be offered places at UWC with partial or no financial support and do not need to have lived in the US as long as they possess valid US passports.

Students in the US who fall outside the eligibility requirements may contact the UWC-USA Director of Admissions at admission@uwc-usa.org to explore potential additional options.

The US Selection Committee selects students of any race, ethnicity, religious affiliation, socioeconomic status, gender identity, sexual orientation, national and ethnic origin, and with any differences in ability to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to UWC students. We do not discriminate in violation of any law or statute in the administration of our educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship programs, and athletic or other school administered programs.

“UWC is a challenging experience but that is why it is worth it. You will come out of it with a better understanding of who you are and who you want to be.“
