Exams
Internal
examinations are given at the end of the students first year and individual teachers administer
tests from time to time. The ultimate measure of a students achievement is the International
Baccalaureate examinations the student takes in each subject. Most of these exams occur at the end of the second year.
International Baccalaureate examinations are graded externally. Performance is reported on a
scale of 1 (minimum) to 7 (excellent). Students who earn a score of 4 or more in each subject usually
earn the International Baccalaureate Diploma. Higher grades in one or two subjects ordinarily compensate
for lower grades in other courses of the same level or by bonus points earned through superior
work in the Theory of Knowledge course and on the Extended Essay.
Reports
The faculty prepares reports on each student at the end of the first and second semesters. These
reports indicate the student's actual performance and expected performance on the IB scale of 1
through 7 and include written descriptions of the student's progress.
Upon leaving the college, each successful student receives a graduation certificate and a transcript
that indicates the courses, services and activities in which he or she has participated. In mid-July,
the International Baccalaureate reports the examination results and in September, each successful
candidate receives an IB diploma. All students receive a detailed set of evaluations sufficient
for college or university requirements and employment applications.
